God Emperor
2025
A New Era Dawns
Ten thousand years ago, The God Emperor and his infinite army came down from above. In a single night they took over the continent, slew the demon who ruled here and built the mountains from its bones.
He has ruled with an iron fist ever since - perfect, infallible, and eternal.
You know this because everyone says so, in public. There's nothing to contradict it - He burnt all the history books.
Now, though, you hear the same people also whisper blasphemy: The God Emperor grows weak.
God Emperor is a megagame designed by Jack McNamee and renowned across the globe. It’s a game of dark fantasy politics, intrigue and war, where players take on the roles of ancient, noble houses vying for some semblance of control (or just survival) in a dangerous and post-apocalyptic realm.

Gameplay Overview
God Emperor involves 45 players split up into 9 teams of five. Players do not have set roles, but rather make a decision each turn on which part of the game they should interact with to best further their noble house's goals.
Each team is constantly vying for power, dominance and prestige, and they do so by contesting powerful castles and relics at the War Map, executing and foiling nefarious schemes in The Underground, and utilising the charms of high society and law at The Court.
War Map
Players engage in a risky game of posturing, area control and fragile alliances as they manouver their way through a game that is much about diplomacy as it is about warfare.
Underground
Through a card game of bluffing and strategy, players target their enemies, protect their own assets, and scheme with ally and foe alike in order to undermine the powerful.
The Court
Chaired by the God Emperor Himself, players attend the court to propose, debate and vote on powerful edicts that could be the dermining factor between victory and crushing defeat for their House.
As the game progresses, players will uncover secrets of the world, undertake quests and discover hidden relics, and ultimately decide the fate of the realm - and their noble house - as the God Emperor's reign comes to a close.

Content Warnings
Sydney Megagamers always rely on players embracing our social contract which acknowledges that "while tensions and conflicts exist between factions in our fictional world, those more focused and personal anti-social behaviours (like racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and any other kind of discrimination) do not exist in this game."
With that understanding, prospective players should understand that God Emperor has a dark, yet sattirical theme, and much of the game's world and narrative is left for the players to invent and interpret. That said, the game does deal with, or could easily touch on through emergent gameplay, the following themes:
Betrayal
Totalitarian states
Corruption
Assassination and death
